Transitioning toK12 Prep AcademyMid-Year

Learn how we transition students with courses in process at other schools

k12 Prep Academy

With K12 Prep Academy, students can switch programs toward the end of the academic year and still finish their coursework in time for the new school year to begin.
K12 Prep Academy speeds up learning by having students swiftly go through material they have already studied while providing them time to grasp new ideas fully. When a student shows that they comprehend the topic, K12 Prep Academy can swiftly assess their level of subject matter mastery and progress them to the subsequent session.

When transferring a student mid-year to K12 Prep Academy, we advise parents to take the following actions:

1

Enroll Your Student in Comparable Courses

Parents should enroll their student in classes comparable to courses their student was taking at their previous school. K12 Prep Academy offers a wide variety of courses that range in grade levels K 12.

The K12 Pre Academy curriculum is standards-based, so many core courses are comparable to those offered at other accredited public and private schools.

During the enrollment process, parents can choose their student’s courses and select the most comparable classes.

2

Set Progress Goals for Timely Completion

Parents may create unique weekly progress goals for each subject to assist kids in staying on track and completing their coursework on time. Each course is self-paced, so parents are free to choose the timetable and speed that works best for their child.

While some parents prefer that their children finish all of their coursework by late spring, others let them extend their study time during the summer. The student will be advised of how many steps they must do each week to stay on track once the weekly target has been personalized.

3

Accelerate Through Lessons Your Student Already Mastered

The K12 Prep Academy system will start by reviewing concepts to determine what your student currently understands before fast moving on to concepts they haven’t mastered. While filling in any potential gaps in essential core information, this method allows students to stay on target for finishing their courses by the end of the year.

Do You Plan to Transition back to Traditional School?

Some parents use online learning as a short-term solution to assist their child in overcoming obstacles and staying on course.

If you plan on returning to traditional schooling, K12 Prep Academy can provide you with an official transcript. Our transcript will include all of your student’s completed courses and grades.

K12 Prep Academy is fully accredited by Cognia, a regional accreditation agency that accredits thousands of public and private schools.

Since every school has its requirements regarding transfer credits, we recommend contacting the school in advance to confirm that the courses you intend to enroll your student in will transfer.

Professionally Filmed, Highly-Engaging Video Lessons

Taught by some of America’s greatest teachers, K12 Prep courses incorporate professionally filmed video lessons with some of the best equipment available in the cinematic industry. The combination of incredible footage, outstanding teachers, and content that makes learning relevant to the real-world makes each lesson captivating and interesting – igniting students’ passion for learning.
